MISSION OF THE POSITION:

Support Research and Development of a new class of surfactants for a range of end-use markets.  

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES OF THE POSITION:

• Evaluation of novel surfactants and surfactant formulations for product development across a broad range of surfactant applications. Evaluations will involve ASTM, NIST, OECD and other standardized tests, including performance tests.
• Organization of databases and laboratory notebooks for presentations, intellectual property filings, and general R&D.
• Preparation of surfactant samples for delivery to customers and contractors. The scientist will be expected to prepare high quality materials for sampling purposes, and to manage materials through evaluation and testing as applicable.

APPLICANT PROFILE:

Education:

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related subject
  Work experience            
  
• Strong laboratory experience (2+ years), and a willingness to learn new techniques and protocols.
  
• Experience with lab notebook maintenance, excel spreadsheets, and secure filing protocol
  
• Surfactant experience desirable
  
• Area of residence:        Northeastern USA
  
• Travel availability:         30 %
